This week was a major milestone for Stimpunks.

Over the past several weeks we have been building a large set of pages, maps, and design tools. In Week 11 those pieces came together into something much bigger: a coherent knowledge system for understanding and designing neurodivergent environments.

Stimpunks is no longer just a website or resource list. It is becoming a field guide, pattern language, and design framework for neurodivergent life.

A Pattern Language for Neurodivergent Life

One of the biggest developments this week was expanding the Stimpunks pattern language.

Patterns describe recurring structures of neurodivergent experience — how attention works, how environments shape participation, and why burnout happens.

We published several core patterns and expanded the pattern system:

You can explore the growing pattern system here:

Together these patterns form the foundation of a design language for neurodivergent environments.

From Patterns to Design

Patterns describe problems. Recipes describe solutions.

This week we expanded the design recipe library that translates patterns into practical design moves.

New recipes include:

These recipes show how environments can be redesigned to support different minds.

Designing Better Environments

We also expanded the environment library, which explores how patterns appear in real-world contexts.

New and expanded environment pages include:

These pages explore how environments can be designed to support sensory safety, deep attention, and sustainable participation.

The Ecology of Neurodivergent Life

Another major theme this week was ecology.

We published several pages exploring how attention, energy, and environments interact:

These pages frame burnout, overload, and participation as environmental and relational phenomena, not individual failures.

The Stimpunks Design System

This week also saw major expansion of the neurodivergent design framework.

New and expanded pages include:

These pages form the beginning of a practical design discipline focused on neurodivergent environments.

Maps of the Stimpunks Knowledge System

As the site has grown, navigation has become increasingly important.

We expanded several maps that help people explore the ecosystem:

These maps help readers navigate the growing body of ideas.

Looking Ahead

Stimpunks is evolving into something larger than a resource site.

It is becoming a field guide for understanding neurodivergent life and designing environments where different minds can thrive.

If you’re new here, start with:

We’re excited to keep building this ecosystem — and to keep exploring what becomes possible when environments are designed for human diversity.
