The short version
- stimpunks.org sets no cookies of its own when you read it. If you pick a reading font or a light or dark look, your browser remembers that choice, and nothing else.
- No advertising, no Google Analytics, and nothing sold. We count page views with WordPress.com’s own statistics, and that is all the counting we do.
- Other people’s players load with the page. Videos, posts and music from YouTube, Bluesky, Spotify, Instagram, TikTok and others can set their own cookies as soon as a page that holds them opens.
- What you send us in a form, our small team reads. Most forms also copy it into our contact software, HubSpot. We delete what we no longer need.
- Questions you ask the Garden Spider go to Anthropic to be answered. We do not store or log your questions or your searches.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and we will.
Who we are
stimpunks.org is published by Stimpunks Foundation, a nonprofit run by and for neurodivergent and Disabled people. We decide what happens to information on this site, which makes us its “controller” under European law.

We are a tiny team. We do not always move at the speed of emergencies, and sometimes we take a week or two for rest. If you have not heard from us within a week, write again.
This page covers stimpunks.org. Each of our sibling sites has its own privacy page, and most of them collect nothing at all.

Almost nothing, and nothing about you. None of it is sent to us.

stimpunks.org sets no cookies of its own for readers. Our own team gets WordPress’s sign-in cookies when we log in to edit, and nobody else does. Other services on our pages can set their own cookies; those are listed under Content from other services on our pages below.
What our hosts see
Every website runs on a computer that sees what your browser sends with each request. That is your IP address, your browser’s name and version, the address you asked for, and the time. Ours are:

We need these to run and secure a website, which is the legal basis for them (“legitimate interests”). We do not use any of it to find out who anybody is.
Searching and asking
Search. When you search stimpunks.org, the words go to our own search service, which runs on Netlify. We do not log or store what you search for. But WordPress puts your search words in the page address (?s=…), and every host receives the page address. So your search words reach WordPress.com’s and Netlify’s servers. They can appear in those servers’ logs, under the policies above.
The Garden Spider. On our Ask page, your question goes to Claude, made by Anthropic. It goes with the pages of ours the spider found, so Claude can answer from them. We do not store or log your question or the answer. Anthropic handles them under its own privacy policy. People type things about their own lives into that box, so please write only what you are comfortable sending.
Forms
We have forms for asking for aid, applying for creator grants, volunteering, joining the community, consent and media releases, and more. When you send one:
- It is stored in WordPress, on WordPress.com’s servers, through our forms software (WPForms). Some forms take a signature or an uploaded file; those are stored with it.
- Most forms copy it into HubSpot, the contact software we use to keep track of who we are working with. Twenty of our twenty-six forms do.
- If we give you money, a part of it goes into our accounting software, QuickBooks Online.
- Spam checking. Akismet (Automattic) checks form submissions for spam. It sees what you typed, your IP address and your browser.
- Who reads it: our directors and Board members. Now and then, nonprofit lawyers, accountants and consultants see some of it, to check that we are acting ethically and legally.
- How we protect it: our accounts are secured with long, random, unique passwords in 1Password for Business.
Some forms ask about access needs, health, disability, money or family. We ask only what we need to help. We never sell it or share it for marketing. We treat personal information as a toxic asset: something to keep as little of, for as short a time as we can.
Donations
Donations are processed by Givebutter. Givebutter’s donation widget appears on many of our pages, so Givebutter can see that you visited a page that holds it, even if you do not donate. When you do donate, Givebutter handles your payment details; we never see your card. What we do with donor information is on our Donor Privacy Policy, and Givebutter’s own is at givebutter.com/privacy.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we keep your email address to send you our newsletter, and nothing else. It is sent through WordPress.com’s newsletter service (Jetpack), under Automattic’s privacy policy. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you.
Content from other services on our pages
Many of our pages hold videos, posts and music from other services. These load when the page loads, before you press anything. From then on, that service receives what any website receives from you. It can also set its own cookies. What it does with that is covered by its own policy, not ours:

When you follow a link to another site, that site can learn you came from stimpunks.org, and from then on you are covered by its policy.
How we look after the site, including with AI
We maintain stimpunks.org with the help of AI tools, including Claude, made by Anthropic, connected to the site’s administration through a service called WPVibe. That connection can read what WordPress stores, which includes form submissions. We use it to maintain the site, not to read what you send us. How and why we use AI is on our AI Collaboration page.
Children and young people
Families, schools and young people read this site. Some of our events include young people. For those, we use parental and travel consent forms, which collect a parent’s details and the young person’s. We use them for that event and nothing else.
How long we keep things
- Form submissions and attachments: we delete them when we no longer need them, and on request.
- Grant records: if we give you a grant, we keep who we gave to and how much for three years, as the Internal Revenue Service requires.
- Newsletter: your email address, until you unsubscribe.
- Host logs: as long as each host’s own policy says, linked above. We keep no logs of our own.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time:
- what we hold about you, and for a copy;
- to correct it;
- to delete it, except the grant records the law makes us keep.
Write to stimpunks@stimpunks.org. We do not ask why.
If you are in the EU or the UK, you have more rights too. You can restrict or object to how we use your information, and move it elsewhere. You can also complain to your data protection authority. Our legal basis for running the site and counting visits is our legitimate interest in publishing it. For forms, it is your consent, or what you asked us to do.
We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser has nothing here to opt you out of. The answer is already no.
What is deliberately not here
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No Google Analytics. We turned it off on September 24, 2026, and count visits with WordPress.com’s statistics only.
- No Google Fonts, and no fonts from anyone else’s server. Since September 24, 2026, every font on this site, including all the reading fonts in the Aa Reading menu, is served from stimpunks.org itself. So is the small script behind our lighter-weight YouTube embeds.
- No selling or trading of anybody’s information, ever.
What we cannot promise
This page describes the site on September 24, 2026, and a description can go out of date faster than the thing it describes. If it stops matching the site, the page is what is wrong. Please tell us.
- We checked our own pages, not our providers. What the services above do with what they receive is their own published claim, linked rather than repeated.
- Embedded content changes. A video or post we embed can start doing something new without anything on our side changing.
Reporting a security problem
If you find a security hole in stimpunks.org, write to stimpunks@stimpunks.org with “security” in the subject. Please do not test it on other people’s information.
When this page changes
If what this site does with your information changes, this page changes first. The date at the top moves, and our weekly changelog says what changed.
