Purpose

Stimpunks Foundation provides permitted users (volunteers, staff, and clients) internet access through mobile hotspots to support their work and participation in our community. This policy establishes guidelines for responsible use, ensuring access is safe, reliable, and aligned with Stimpunks’ values of care, inclusion, and accessibility.

Definitions

“Permitted User” refers to an individual who is (i) a member, user, recipient, or beneficiary of the Stimpunks Foundations programs or services, or (ii) an employee, volunteer, or independent contractor of the Organization.

Scope

This policy applies to all permitted users who are granted internet access and issued mobile hotspot devices by Stimpunks Foundation.

Policy Guidelines

  1. Provision of Access
  • Permitted users may receive a mobile hotspot device and internet service for personal use and/or to facilitate their work, including accessing Stimpunks Foundation resources, participating in meetings, and contributing to projects.
  • The use of devices and internet service must be in compliance with all applicable laws and the terms of service of device manufacturers, internet service provider (Mobile Beacon), and network provider (T-Mobile).

  • By signing this form you are agreeing to abide by, and monitor updates to, the terms of service on the Mobile Beacon Legal Page.
  1. Acceptable Use
  • See Mobile Beacon Permitted User Minimum Terms of Service, number 3.
  • Users must respect the privacy, rights, and well-being of others online.
  1. Unacceptable Use
  • See Mobile Beacon Permitted User Minimum Terms of Service, number 5.
  1. Security and Privacy
  • Permitted users are responsible for safeguarding the hotspot device and connection credentials.
  • Devices must be stored securely when not in use.
  • Any suspected security breaches or loss of the device should be reported immediately to Stimpunks Foundation.
  1. Monitoring and Privacy
  • Stimpunks Foundation respects permitted users privacy and does not monitor internet use at all.
  • Usage data may be collected for technical maintenance, troubleshooting, or compliance purposes.
  1. Ownership and Return of Devices
  • Our service provider does not allow us to transfer ownership of devices to you.
  • Stimpunks remains the owner of the device.
  • Devices may be shared only with other authorized permitted users.
  • Return devices when you’re done with your volunteer service or need for the device.
  • Stimpunks will pay for return shipping.
  1. Policy Compliance
  • Permitted users are expected to adhere to this policy.
  • Violations may result in temporary or permanent loss of internet access privileges and/or further action in line with Stimpunks’ volunteer policies.

Acknowledgment

By accepting a Stimpunks Foundation mobile hotspot, permitted users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this policy.
