We are creating free, downloadable, editable parent/carer resources to help students and families advocate for themselves. We call these Why Sheets.
We’re beginning this effort with two why sheets:
These sheets include open license letters and resources people will be able download and edit/ personalize.
For example:
- WHY PBS is harmful
- WHY wearing school uniform may be difficult for your child with a different sensory processing system
- WHY your child may need movement breaks in the day
- WHY homework may not be the the most valuable way for your child to spend their time after a day in school when they need to regulate and recharge
We are:
- Anti PBS/ Anti ABA
- Neurodiversity affirming to help empower families and give them agency and autonomy
This is a project in progress, and we are only at the very very beginning. If you think this will be valuable, please add your signature as parent / carer or professional to the Why Sheets to help endorse these documents and give even more weighting to them.
