Penguin Pebbling is one of The Five Neurodivergent Love Locutions.

Penguins pass pebbles to other penguins to show they care. Penguin Pebbling is a little exchange between two people to show that they care and want to build a meaningful connection.

Penguin Pebbling – An Autistic Love Language

On this page, our community shares our favorite pebbles with you, and with each other.

Pebbles can be songs, videos, poems, quotes, photographs, art, and anything else you might share on social media. Pebbles can be anything. Anything made by you or by others. Whatever you like. Our website turns web links to places like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, and more into embeds that can be played and paused.

We share our soul samefoods.

We share our SpIns.

We share our fandom.

We share artifacts of our constructionism.

This is community show-and-tell.

We share joy. We share sorrow. We share anger. We share pride.

We share the silly and the serious.

We share our truth, our lived experience.

We share to remember. We share to forget.

We share to cope and create community.

Let’s capture this moment, weaving the individual into a collective right now.

Two penguins with hearts on their chests stand among piles of rocks.

Text reads:

Neurodivergent Friendships
Friendships may look different if you are neurodivergent.
You may engage more in
parallel play alongside each other.

You might like to exchange little 'penguin pebbles' to
show you care. This may involve sharing gifs, photos
or special collections of objects.

We love AURORA. We have 5 AURORA videos on our “🌈♿️ Take Them Together: Neurodiversity and Disability Justice” page.

AURORA’s latest, “The Conflict Of The Mind”, has captivated many of us.

This songwriting speaks to us and our mission.

I put “The Conflict Of The Mind” in a short playlist with some other recent songs. I listen to these over and over. It’s my musical samefood for the moment.

A commission I did of the “metamorphosis” of a butterfly,
How we sometimes need to go from the caterpillar phase of our life eating bitter leaves and moving slow, to the chrysalis stage of healing and safety and finally come out into a beautiful colorful butterfly flying freely and eating the sweet nectar of life in all its glory.

My penguin pebbling consists of sharing screenshots of ideas and research I discover, which I hope will be of interest and value to others. I also love creating gifs and memes& sharing photos with people based on things I know they like too 🙂

To be is to be perceived, and so to know thyself is only possible through the eyes of the other. The nature of our immortal lives is in the consequences of our words and deeds, that go on and are pushing themselves throughout all time.

Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.

The first thing that comes to mind is my very favorite show, Our Flag Means Death. It’s this glorious hilarious wonderful manifestation of inclusion & queer joy.

Season 2, especially the first 5 episodes, are my comfort food & I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve rewatched.

Throughout my undergrad and postgrad studies, I met many diverse people who helped me broaden my perspectives and better myself. Not only did I receive support and generous encouragement from these friends, but I also found myself giving love and appreciation to other people. I rediscovered my natural inclination to be creative, make and share things with others. In unexpected and surprising ways, they made and shared a lot with me too.

This picture somewhat captures this mutual exchange of creativity, love and friendship.
