Getting started and getting around.
Two kinds of people land here: someone who just arrived, and someone bringing another person in. Both need the same thing first — a map, not a test.
Onboarding here is not a probation period. It is us telling you how the place works so you can stop guessing. Guessing is expensive, and it is the tax we most want to stop charging people — because the cost of it falls hardest on whoever is already spending the most energy decoding the room.
So we front-load what most organizations leave implicit: what we believe, how we talk to each other, and what nobody is going to ask you to explain about yourself. No masking required. No disclosure as the price of entry. Nobody has to perform fluency in a culture they have not been shown yet.
What we do ask for is values fit, and that is a thing time produces rather than a form. Our induction runs over weeks and months of working alongside each other, one trusted relationship at a time, at human scale. That is not gatekeeping wearing culture as a costume. It is the honest pace of building a competency network — trust earned in both directions, until neither of us is guessing about the other.
Orienting is not an entrance exam.
It is us handing you the map we wish someone had handed us.
Welcome Aboard: Start Here — the front door. Our mission, creed, covenant, and philosophy, then the actual steps: join us on Discord, and onboard progressively from there.
