Screens are not the enemy!
Screens are:
- infrastructure
- assistive devices
- regulation tools
- community spaces, and
- lifelines!!
STOP counting minutes of screen time!
Instead, ask what the screen is being used for.
Divergence in screen usage is not a disorder.
STOP banning screens and gaming!
Bans remove coping strategies in a world not made for us
Gaming gives control back!
Gaming lets us make choices, be in community, and have agency.
Respect flow states and attention tunnels!
Support monotropic interests!
Instead of judging, get curious and join in!
Demonizing screens = demonizing interests
Be interested in what makes us come alive!
Learn to play, or watch without judgement.
Game design can inform how to design inclusively.
Learn from gamers and inclusive game designers!
