About Dance Party Time
In their own words:
“Dance Party Time” is a comedic variety show for kids that stars neurodivergent young adults and reflects their unique experience of the world and sense of humor. Created by an autism sibling, we are committed to authentic representation and celebrating our cast members’ talents and passions.
It is actually performed entirely by the folks it represents. The cast includes young alumni from the Cooke School & Institute in NYC, as well as my brother, Tim, who is on the autism spectrum.
My team includes a writer who used to work at Sesame Street and a special education paraprofessional and we are committed to authentic representation and celebrating our cast members’ talents and passions.

Dance Party Time
Episode 1: Senses
Episode 1 is titled “Senses”. The segment about sensory overload in a doctor’s office is much appreciated. They humorously and concisely advocate for our sensory and social needs regarding:
- lighting
- gentle touch
- clear explanations
- asking for permission first before touching
- self-advocacy
- crowded spaces

Episode 2: Thank You
Episode 2 is titled “Thank You”.
It contains an amusing spoof of “The Bear” titled “The Teddy Bear”.
“It’s okay. Have a cookie.”
Wise words.
