Becky and Friends will have a creative drawing and painting class for children! ages 6-7 and 8-10
Hi! I’m Becky! I have a BFA and 30 years in the advertising/art field. I am an art director at an ad agency right now, and have been there for over 20 years. I’ve decided to share my love of art with our community. While babysitting and getting to know the Algiers Point kids I have seen some real talent! We will have art class at 10:30 every Saturday for around 6-7 year olds. Then the next hours will be for around 8-10 year olds. This will be a creative drawing and painting class. They will get messy. Of course parents are allowed to stay, but if you do, please sit in the back where the child can create without them seeing you. You may also leave them for the hour. The children should come with a basic knowledge of shapes and colors. The $30 per class fee helps me cover the rent of the space/insurance and supplies. If the child has something they want to bring and work with, that is fine with me, but we will have all they need for each class. The week before the class I will send out a word that they need to think of for the week’s assignment! That way they can come preparted and ready to get started!!!! At this time i am setting the capacity of each class to 8 children. Please message me to reserve your spot. I will take payment in advance to assure that the spots don’t go to waste. Venmo, paypal preferred. Since there will be a demand for the spaces, i will have to charge a no show fee. I aim for this to not be an arts an crafts lesson, but a creative drawing/painting/mixed media class. We may delve into some other medias once i see the level of the kids! Once in a while we may even have special guest hosts to bring their unique talents in!!
